The full pantry moth life cycle can be completed in as little as 30 days or as long as 300 days depending on the conditions, food availability and temperatures. In most of the cases, an adult moth does not survive for more than a year. The caterpillar stage of the army cutworm feeds on crops and garden plants in winter and early spring.
