Metropolitan Life North Building. The building was completed in 1932 as part of the metropolitan life home office complex, and 11 madison was previously known as the metropolitan life north building, situated right next to the metlife tower. At madison square park is the 700 foot metropolitan life tower, that is topped by the “light that never fails” (to symbolize that the company would always protect its customers).

The office building covering the same block was built in 1933 with an address of 11 madison avenue, and is also known as the metropolitan life north building. Nowadays the tower is owned by sl green and has been renovated in the 1990s. Other names the building has commonly been known as, including former names, common informal names, local names, etc.
